Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026

This policy explains how NetWit (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your personal data when you play the Daily Rally, create an account to save your progress, or register your interest in NetWit Pro. You can contact us at any time at privacy@netwit.co.uk (or hello@netwit.co.uk).

Playing without an account

You can play the Daily Rally without giving us anything at all. No account, no email address, no sign-in.

Your running XP total and the fact that you’ve finished today’s Rally are stored on your own device, in your browser’s local storage, so the game remembers where you are. That stays on your device — it isn’t sent to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.

We do record how the Rally itself is being used, whether or not you have an account — which question was shown, which option was picked, whether it was BEST, SOUND, TRAP or WEAK, how sure you said you were, and how long you took. This is how we work out whether the puzzles are too hard, too easy, or badly worded. It is not attached to your name or your email address, and we cannot use it to work out who you are. See How we measure the Rally below.

What we collect if you create an account

You only need an account if you want your progress to persist — your streak, your XP and Wit totals, and the record of your decisions that powers your Player Mirror insights.

WhatWhy
Your email addressTo identify your account, sign you in, and contact you about it
Which sports you tell us you playTo show you the right content, and to help us decide which sport to build out next
Your gameplay record — the questions you answered, what you chose, whether it was BEST, SOUND, TRAP or WEAK, the tactical principle involved, how confident you said you were, and how long you tookTo keep your streak and totals accurate, and to generate the coaching insights that are the point of the product
Whether you registered interest in NetWit ProTo let you know when Pro is available, and to gauge demand for it

We don’t ask for your name, date of birth, address, phone number or payment details. If NetWit Pro launches as a paid subscription, payments will be handled by a payment provider, and we’ll update this policy before that happens.

How we measure the Rally

NetWit is early, and the puzzles are still being tuned. To do that we record what happens during a Rally:

Each of these is sent with a short random reference that groups one visit’s actions together, so we can tell five answers from one person apart from one answer each from five people. That reference is generated fresh each time the page loads, is held only in the page’s memory — it is never saved to your device — and disappears the moment you close the tab. It is not linked to your email address, your account, or anything else about you. We also keep the two-letter country code our hosting provider supplies, and nothing more — no IP address, no device or browser details, and no free text you have typed.

These records are deleted automatically after 90 days.

We don’t use advertising trackers or third-party analytics services, and none of this is shared with anyone. Our hosting provider processes standard technical information such as IP addresses in order to serve the site securely; we don’t see it and don’t use it to profile you.

Our lawful bases

What we don’t do

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we need in order to run NetWit, and only for that purpose:

Some of these providers are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and its progress for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete it, we will, and we’ll confirm when it’s done. If an account sits unused for two years we’ll get in touch before removing it. The Rally measurement records described above are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Cookies and local storage

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t use any third-party analytics service. Our measurement of the Rally stores nothing on your device at all. We use two things on your own device, both to deliver the game itself:

Clearing your browser data removes all of them.

Age

NetWit isn’t aimed at young children. If you’re under 13, please don’t create an account or give us your email address. If you believe a child under 13 has given us their details, email privacy@netwit.co.uk and we’ll delete them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

To exercise any of these, email privacy@netwit.co.uk. Every marketing email we send also includes a one-click unsubscribe link.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as NetWit develops — particularly when we launch paid subscriptions or add features that use your data in a new way. When we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know by email.
